Trusts and Tax Planning
Successfully dealing with all the legal issues surrounding Trusts and Tax Planning on behalf of our private clients is an area of expertise and strength for Peters Langsford Davies.
TRUSTS
A trust is a formal transfer of money or property, usually to two or three other people - or trustees - who hold the money or property for someone else's benefit. Trusts can operate for many years and can be tailored to suit any situation. They are usually created to deal with issues of taxation or family matters.
If you want to reduce your family’s total tax liability, protect your family against future financial difficulties or provide for the care of incapacitated or handicapped people, forming a trust may be a solution.
We can provide expert advice on how trusts can help you.
TAX PLANNING
When you have worked hard all your life, it is natural to want your family to receive the full value of their inheritance after your death. The main obstacle between you and this goal is Inheritance Tax.
The tax rate at death is 40% and on certain transfers during your lifetime it is 20%. It applies to all chargeable property throughout the world if you live in the United Kingdom.
We can provide advice on dealing with inheritance tax, the reliefs available and help you preserve your wealth for the continuing benefit of your family.
Please contact us for more information on how we can help you with trusts and tax planning.
