Wills

Wills are very important legal documents, which should be professionally prepared and regularly reviewed to avoid problems in the future. We have a wide experience of this and will provide a high quality legal service you can rely on.

It is essential that you make a will to record your wishes and state who will be your executor – the person who will deal with these matters for you after your death. If you do not make a will the law will decide who will inherit your estate and this may have unfortunate results.

Probate

Probate involves the legal authentication of a will. This is usually necessary for Banks, Building Societies and other organisations to pay out money following a person’s death and for the vesting of property in the beneficiaries. Probate authorises the Executor to deal with the affairs of someone who has died.

Obtaining probate is just one of the steps in administering an estate following a family death. The tax needs to be paid, the estate administered and finally we produce estate accounts which record what has been done.

We contact all the relevant Banks, Building Societies, Insurance Companies, government departments and creditors on your behalf.

We also deal with the necessary Inheritance Tax and Income Tax matters, property and share valuations and sales and deal with any debts that need to be cleared.

Once these matters have been dealt with we administer the funds in the estate by paying out the assets in accordance with the terms of the will.
